FNG Tickets

Yesterday, I told you about a resource where you could find donated tickets for free. But what if they don’t have what you are looking for? Then, I suggest you check out FNG Tickets. FNG Tickets is a veteran-owned business (with that name, how could it not be?) which offers tickets to sporting events, concerts, theater events, and events in Las Vegas and on Broadway.

The site itself is sparse, basically a large cartoon grunt and the ticket category tabs, so it is easy to navigate. Click on the category you want, then the event you want (the list is a bit of an eye chart but it’s alphabetical so, if you know what you are looking for, it’s easy enough to find), then on the date/venue you are looking for.

One you’ve made your choices, you’ll see a screen with the venue’s floorplan on the right. On the left will be listed the tickets available and their details – section, row, cost, and number of tickets left for each row/section. Click the “buy” button for the ticket you want. Then, on the next screen, select how many tickets you want, delivery method (options include standard or express shipping and, in some cases, will call and instant e-mail delivery), and your payment method.

At this point, you will have to check a button saying you’ve read the policies. (You can also read them by clicking on the teeny, tiny “policies” button at the top of the homepage.) I recommend reading them, if only because that’s where it tells you that the tickets are nonrefundable and why it’s a bad idea to pay for the tickets using a debit card.

I found the site easy to navigate. I haven’t purchased any tickets from them, so I can’t speak to how the purchasing/delivery part works. However, I did do a little price comparison, since FNG claims to have the lowest ticket prices “PERIOD!” I found tickets for some events to be cheaper at Ticketmaster. However, there were some events that Ticketmaster said it had no available tickets for and FNG did. So, as with everything, it pays to do your research.

Also, if you read yesterday’s post and signed up for Vet Tix, you can find a special code to help you save an additional 5% at FNG Tickets.

just purchased tickets for a Brewers game in the near future and thought I was getting a good deal. Check the MLB site and found that, after the FNG fees, I was paying more than I would have if I’d just gone down to the stadium. Apparently they are nothing more than just another legal scalper. I will never use them again….

    Update on FNGTickets

    Buyer beware.

I failed to research this company fully and they did not provided tickets once purchased but instead emails promising tickets but never providing. Their email was coming back as undeliverable and i had to cancel the transaction through my credit card because I could not reach anyone there. Please avoid them at all costs. It’s sad that they advertise as being military friendly.

FNG Tickets is a ticket reseller that uses one of the two primary ticket broker databases in the world. Of course, the U.S. is the primary driver of resale inventory. So, when they sell you a ticket/tickets, they are relying on a central clearinghouse of inventory that most every broker in the country is selling off of. This is why you can pull up ten different broker sites, scattered all about the U.S. and see the SAME TICKETS. The reason for different pricing is that each broker sets their own price. On RARE occasion, you will run into a situation where a ticket you bought is no longer available. Some ticket houses will simply return your money, while others will make a huge effort to find you a suitable replacement, when inventory allows. Say you’re buying tickets online from markyandbudstickets.biz and I am at the counter of Babbashaboola’s Tickets in Brooklyn and buy the same pair Mets tickets you wanted. Good Ol’ Babba hasn’t even had the chance to mark them sold. Accordingly, the clearinghouse hasn’t been updated and you end up missing out. This is not an exact science. That said, when you want a hot ticket, a broker is probably your best bet. Most of us don’t have access to the corporate treasure chest at our disposal. So, in defense of FNG and all the other ticket brokers out there, cut them some slack. Most of them are DAMN GOOD at what they do and take great care of their customers.

Personal disclaimer: I have not purchased from FNG. But, I have used probably 20 different resellers throughout the years and have only once run into a “Sorry, those aren’t available” email.

    Good luck to you all!

Never use this site. I purchased tickets for the David Wright retirement game, New York Mets on Sept. 29th and after sending me a confirmation regarding the tickets, to my surprise I received an email the next day telling me that the tickets were no longer available. By the time I received the email it was too late to purchase tickets anywhere else because the prices had skyrocketed. I am sure that they sold my tickets to someone else at a much higher price. My husband is an army veteran with 26 years of service. Shame on you FNGtickets for doing this to veterans. I am reporting them to the Better Business Bureau

I used FNG Tickets and it was a total rip off. I bought 2 tickets that ended up being $162. When I realized that tickets everywhere else would have been only $60 for 2 tickets. I payed $100 more from this “vet owned site”. When I called to see what why their tickets were so much more, they just told me it’s like airline tickets… every place is different on price and that I should have checked to compare prices before I bought the tickets. Anyways I will never use this company again.

DO NOT USE FNG!!! I have been on the phone with them for three days trying to resolve a situation where not only did they not get me reasonably priced tickets, but ruined my chance to get any reasonably priced tickets. I went on their site to buy tickets to a baseball game a few days ago. There was a listing for a very reasonable set of tickets, along with several other not as, but still reasonable tickets. I placed my order and they waited so long to tell me that the tickets I had ordered actually were not available, that all of the other reasonable ones were already gone by that time. Then they tried to tell me that they would “make it right” by selling me a set of nosebleed tickets that were the same price as the ones that I tried to buy that were just a few rows up from the field. All you will get out of them is an “oops sorry, but there’s nothing we can do, but we understand your frustration.” I’m honestly starting to think that it is a scam, as my CC has been charged three times for those tickets that I will not be receiving. I wonder how many Veterans this “Veteran owned business” has screwed over that didn’t notice that they had been charged multiple times. They assured me that my purchase would be refunded, but I wonder if that would have been the case had I not caught it and said something to them about it.

Yeah ripoff….These are scalpers prices. looking at tickets now that are not even open for general public purchase yet and they are double/triple or more of what you can buy at fan club or ticket window. This is a BS site not a Veteran site all they want is money, more money and more money.

I agree with Brad. For a “veteran run and owned site” they are a ripoff 9/10 they are more expensive than the normal sites like ticketmaster. If it truly is owned and run by a veteran the he is using that as a way to get people to his site then ripping them off. Another greedy person trying to make money. Avoid that site!

FNG is a total ripoff. They claim to be veteran owned and support the Veteran but in reality, they are just as greedy as the next company. I spent $ 213 on 3 tickets that were $12 seating. All the other sites I looked at after receiving my tickets because I was disturbed should the seats I thought I was paying for still available and after calling they said the tickets were out sourced and there was nothing they could do. So, Veteran beware and I would recommend paying a little extra and getting what you paid for though Ticketmaster.

      Brad,

Sorry to hear you had such a bad experience with them. Thanks for providing the information for other vets, so they can consider it when deciding whether to use FNG themselves.
