Welcome to After the DD-214!

My name is Sarah Maples. I'm a former Air Force Intelligence officer, Afghanistan veteran, and former Army wife. Recently, I served as a veterans representative at a local college.  After the DD-214 was inspired by my veteran students and is designed to help connect vets with resources and opportunities.

I generally post once a week - sometimes more, sometimes less, as I also work full time and am currently a graduate student for the second time. Posts are generally a short, detailed look at a single resource, opportunity, or topic. Occasionally, I will also do a "Front and Center" Interview with a veteran or veteran's advocate or a book review of a book written by and/or for veterans. You can find up-to-the-minute information on other opportunities on the After the DD-214 Facebook page or by following After the DD-214 on Twitter.

If there is anything else you'd like to see on After the DD-214, let me know. I'm always open to suggestions.
